Development and Alumni Relations Director
The Development and Alumni Relations Director is responsible for strategy, planning, and implementation of fundraising programs and Alumni relations for the International Student House. S/he will create and execute a major gifts strategy, expand annual-giving and develop a capital campaign for building funds and endowment growth. Reports to the Executive Director.
Development
- Develop a major gifts campaign.
- Develop a capital campaign addressed to all levels with the goal to increase funds to maintain our buildings, and to increase endowment.
- Expand Annual Appeal
- Develop annual fundraising schedule and giving chart.
- Assist with preparation of grant proposals and tracking.
- Arrange one or two high profile lectures or events in conjunction with Board and residents, with the goal of introducing potential givers to ISH.
- Work with, and motivate, Board member volunteers to enhance the overall fundraising effort.
- Must be familiar with fundraising software.
- Dates to keep in mind are ISH 75th anniversary in 2011 and 100th adversary of Main Hall building in 2012.
Alumni Relations
- Manage all aspects of alumni relations
- Alumni records management. Must be familiar with database management.
- Ensure all contributions are processed and responded to in a timely manner.
- Arrange two alumni events per year in the House, in conjunction with Alumni Committee. There may be other events outside the House arranged by our local alumni at a nightclub or similar event.
- Promote alumni gatherings around the world.
- Produce three alumni newsletters per year, distributed via e-mail.
- Update ISH website to be more Alumni friendly.
- Produce publications and communications as necessary, using InDesign, Photoshop.
- Expand alumni relations using several communications vehicles – Facebook, e-mails, website.
Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends beyond normal business hours.
Serves as on-duty staff person in the House one weekend per month.
This person may elect to live in the House and be a member of the ISH community. Residence is encouraged but not required. Salary adjustment would be made for room and board.
The individual must have a strong commitment to the mission of ISH, which is to promote inter-cultural dialogue, encourage life-long connections, and foster global citizenship.
