Katherine Russell is the Director of Outreach and Strategic Initiatives at ISH-DC, where she collaborates with and assists the Executive Director and Director of Development with outreach and communications initiatives in support of ISH-DC’s mission. She is responsible for establishing and maintaining our extensive network of partnerships with Washington area foreign policy focused organizations, embassies, and non-profits. She is also responsible for supporting the ISH-DC Board of Directors in establishing and working toward the organization’s strategic goals.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Political Science with an international focus, Katherine moved to NYC for a gap year in AmeriCorps where she worked on education initiatives in the South Bronx. This was soon followed by a move to Chicago where she pursued her Masters in Urban Planning and Policy with a concentration in community and international development. During her time in Chicago, Katherine worked in programming of the young professional ministry at a large urban church, as well as worked on volunteer engagement projects with Renew Chicago. She interned at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs with their program department and most recently with the human rights organization, International Justice Mission, here in DC.
