Garden Gatherings | 2021 Highlights

Monday, June 28 and Tuesday, June 29: International Student House welcomed back Board members, Associates, alumni, donors, and friends for our first in-person gathering since March 2020. We were thrilled to connect once again and thank our guests for their incredible support this past year.

His Excellency Philippe Étienne, Ambassador of France to the United States

Wednesday, July 22 at 4 PM EDT: ISH-DC welcomed Ambassador Étienne to join us for a virtual conversation on the future of international exchange and US-FR student exchange.  ISH-DC alumna Irene Hu moderated to time of Q&A  from Paris, where she is a PhD candidate at the Paris School of Economics.

The Honorable Marie Royce, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) at the U.S. Department of State

Wednesday, June 24 at 4:00 PM EDT: Assistant Secretary Royce joined ISH-DC for a conversation on her work leading the department. The Assistant Secretary discussed the many exchange programs they manage and how they have pivoted in recent weeks and months.

Her Excellency Bergdís Ellertsdóttir, Ambassador of Iceland to the United States

Wednesday, May 27 at 4:00 PM EDT: Ambassador Ellertsdóttir joined ISH-DC for a conversation on the United States-Iceland relationship. The Ambassador discussion tourism in the country, and how they are adapting the the COVID-19 pandemic.
