Board Member: Selby McPhee

Selby McPhee was a staff writer and editor at schools, universities, and other educational institutions including Tufts University and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), where she was marketing vice president.  In addition to her administrative work, she was the editor of numerous institutional newsletters, magazines, and e-publications.  Most recently she was director of communications for Washington International School, focusing on stories highlighting international education. Her memoir Love Crazy was published in 2013.

As a freelance writer, McPhee has published articles in a variety of magazines and newspapers, including Vermont Life, HighFidelity/Musical America, Independent School, Burlington (VT) Free Press, and IB World (the International Baccalaureate magazine).  She was president of the board of Directors of Revels, Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a member of the board of Washington Revels.

McPhee earned a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.

International Student House of Washington, DC (ISH-DC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization located near Dupont Circle in the heart of Washington, DC. Donations will help support our mission to provide an exceptional residential experience to a highly diverse international community of graduate students, interns and visiting scholars. The House promotes inter-cultural dialogue, encourages life-long connections, and fosters global citizenship.
